Kayleigh Gultig, MSc
Clinical Research Manager

Background & expertise
I completed my Bachelor's of Physiology and Psychology at the University of Stellenbosch followed by an Honour's Degree in Neuroscience at the University of Cape Town. Here, I wrote my thesis on genetic risk factors for ALS in African populations. I completed my Master's degree in Neuroscience at Vrije University, Amsterdam. My first research internship focused on genetic and environmental risk factors for PTSD and for my second internship I investigated the effects of aerobic exercise on associative learning using the BlinkLab app. Currently I am halfway through my PhD in Neuroscience at Erasmus MC working with BlinkLab to develop a diagnostic tool for autism.
Why BlinkLab
BlinkLab's mission to bring an objective diagnostic tool into the field of psychiatry, traditionally largely based on subjective measures, really excites me. Being part of a company that translates neuroscience into a practical application with real-world relevance and the potential to help many people strongly motivates me.
My Role
I joined BlinkLab in 2022 to start the second internship for my masters. Currently I am working at the intersection of our clinical and data science teams and am involved in the execution of our clinical studies as well as the analysis of our collected data. In addition, I work with our collaborators using our platform to study sensorimotor behaviours in various conditions.
Meet the rest of our team!
With the roots of our company lying in the neurological research field, our team is built from strong academic knowledge gained at prestigious institutions such as Princeton University and Erasmus MC.
